Background
BPositiv is a blood center dedicated to collecting donations from younger individuals. Hospitals are constantly short on blood supply in the modern day, primarily due to lack of donation. Habitual Donation is a means on consistently supporting blood drives and hospitals by “building the habit.” For a normal red blood cell donation an individual can donate every 56 days! Sticking more closely to this deadline is the key to rebuilding donation culture as a whole.
BPositiv is entirely fictional, an experimental project I used to practice more medical design.
Identity
The inspiration for the name, if not obvious, is the double entendre. BPositiv both represents the B+ blood type as well as the emotion, being positive toward the act of donating blood. The idea is that it appears as an approachable yet trustworthy organization that can help to flip the script and make more blood accessible to those that need it.
HWT Konop (Title) acts a strong block type for calls to action and grabbing attention. It is bold and clean with a uniform character width.
Montserrant is the dependable sidekick to our title font. It also has a wide characters so the typefaces together feel related. Montserrat also has a more formal style that contrasts nicelt with a more unique typeface in the heading.
In terms of color, I felt that a blood drive needed a strong visual identity. The tritone to the left is what is used in every piece of branding and ephemera. A dark navy blue helps the lighter shade stand out along with an eye-catching red.
Red, while on the nose, felt necessary for brand recognition and association with that of a blood drive or health-related entity.
